Hello there my throat started to itch a couple days ago Saturday evening to be exact Jul 11 today Monday Jul 13 I noticed that the back of my tongue has some red bumps that look inflamed sorry if not using the right word. My voice has gone away and I have a small cough I just want to know if I should worry about anything or is it due to the cold.
As per your query you have inflammed throat with difficulty in speaking . Well the symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition known as sore throat . Well it can occur due to bacteria or virus . Sometimes infection like sore throat or upper respiratory tract infection speread to larynx when left untreated and cause laryngitis . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay . Doctor may order blood test , throat swab test and viral culture test to find ou exact cause and rule out acid reflux like condition . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( penicillin or amoxicillin ) for at least 10 days . For now do warm saline rinses several times a day .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
