In One saided tonsil enlargement with pain I have always seen an abscess around tonsil..we call it as quinsy... You are getting ear pain because tonsil and ear got same nerve supply...nothing to worry about that...I recommend a course of antibiotics and analgesics for pain relief...if you are not getting relieved the pus has to be drained..its a small opd procedure through oral cavity only we drain it..nothing to worry at all...hope I have answered your question..
