Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I slipped down the concrete stairs and landed on my lower back to the edge of the step. I have had trouble sitting for prolonged periods today. I am due for an xray, the doctor suspect I may have a fracture. Should I be worried for any long term damage?
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you probably you got injury to your coccyx and you got coccyxdynia.Treatment of it is rest and analgesic such as ibuprofen. Avoid sitting on hard surfaces , only use soft pillows to be used to sit. Hot sits bath is useful and give relief. Vitamin B and C are helpful in recovery. X-ray will show whether you have fracture or not. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
