Suggest Remedy For Irregularity In Periods

I had my periods on jan 6th 2014. After that i did not have my periods. So went to the doctor and they took a scan and said that i have polycyst ovary. Then i took duphaston for 5 daysabd waited for a week but still i didnt have my periods. So the doctor gave me fertab-50 for the next 5 days and then waited for the next 5 days and later i got my periods on 15th March 2015. Doctor adviced me to take glucophage 750 mg. I took a scan on my 10th day they said there are 2 follicles grown up. Again took another scan on my 14th day and said that i have one follicle grown up to 20mm. I took an choriomon 10000 injection. Do i need to continue with glucophage? I usually have my regular periods. Now feel normal after getting my periods. Do i have to consult the doctor again. I am mentally stressed going through this process. I have a 2 .9 years child. Kindly advice.

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Poly cystic ovarian syndrome is mainly due to insulin resistance in the ovary so the ovarian cells can not use glucose properly,it leads to cyst formation.

People who wants to have children usually follow this process to increase the size of the follicle and ovulation occurs.
Due to lack of ovulation in PCOD there will be hormonal imbalance and leads to irregular periods.
Insulin resistance can be decreased by METFORMIN (GLUCOPHAGE).
SO,you should continue the tablet.
By regular exercise you get benefit.
Along with metformin you also advised to take 21 days hormonal tablets to balance your hormone levels.
Chromium 10000 is only for induction of ovulation for who wants to conceive.
Continue glycophage regularly for 3 months and repeat the scan ,if the cysts are decreased you can stop the medication.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Thank you.
