Suggest Remedy For Itching In Throat Caused By Severe Cold
Hi I woke up with a very itchy throat and it's been bothering me all day . I don't really feel sick and I don't have a cold and my nose it not too bad stuffy . I'm wondering could it just be my allergies ? The reason I am asking is because I have a 3 month old baby at home and I know how severe cold can be for them and don't want to risk him catching it . Any advice or answers would be greatly appreciated ! Thank you !
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.
As per your complain itchy throat can be due to viral or bacterial infection in throat while if you are known to have allergies it can also be due to it.. Many a times cold is preceded with itchy throat that in a day or two converts into full fledged cold.. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles.. Take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen. Take anti allergics like Allegra.. Do steam inhalations.. Suck throat lozenges and chew Vitamin C pellets.. Sip on plenty of warm water throughout the day.. Avoid spicy and chilled foods and maintain a good oral hygiene.. In case if symptoms worsen consult an Otolaryngologist and get a throat swab culture done so that the exact cause can be ruled out and treated accordingly..
Hope this information helps..
