Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcarmagic
The kind of rash you describe and the location of it, seems to suggest that it is most probably part of seborrheic
dermatitis.
Seborrheic dermatitis can present as itchy, dry, scaly erythematous patches on the face, particularly sides of nose, glabella(area between the eyebrows), forehead, moustache area and chin.
It is an itchy condition.
If I was the treating doctor I would have asked you to use a topical moderately potent
topical steroid e.g
fluticasone propionate 0.05% cream, twice daily for 2 weeks or so.
Since seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic condition and may relapse within a few days after topical
steroids are discontinued and moreover since steroids cannot be used forever, therefore after the initial 2 weeks of topical steroid use, I usually ask my patients to substitute them with a topical immunodulator like tacrolimus
Topical immunomodulators are effective in maintaining the improvement attained with topical steroids and are alone effective in mild disease.
These are all prescription drugs therefore I would suggest that you visit a
dermatologist in your region for the needful.
