I have flakey extremely itchy skin on my labia exactly where my hood meets. I have been tested for parasites, fungal, bacterial, allergies and had a biopsy that came back as spongiotic dermatitis. It does get better with steroids but ALWAYS comes back or never completely clears.could this be something else?
Hi. As per your case history of itching on labia. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply an antifungal cream like clotrimazole cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid, hydroxyzine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
