Suggest Remedy For Itchy Sunburns With Blisters On The Back And Arms
Almost 3 weeks ago this coming Sunday, I sunburned my back and arms, causing my skin to blister and peel. My problem now is extreme itching on these areas. A pharmacist suggested I buy and apply CeraVe a itch relief moisturing lotion. Not doing a very good job. Is this a symptom of something more serious, should I be seeing a dermatologist?
Hi. As per your case history of sunburn blisters, my treatment advice is - 1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with spf more than 30. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a vitamin c supplement once daily for 3 months. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral aspirin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
