Suggest Remedy For Itchy Swelling Bumps

I have a red swelling on my lower left buttock. A bit like a mosquito bite but it felt stiffer. Its tender to touch, very itchy and its mild throbbing pain (maybe because of the area, its right where I sit). It have a black raised dot in the middle(on the beginning, its only red itchy bump and it got firm later on). Not pointy, just smooth and feel like there is liquid underneath. And I accidentally popped it, watery blood came out. I put disinfectant cream and seal it with plaster.(should I done that?)Please give me an answer, any pointer will be gladly appreciated.

Hi

Thanks for your query

Seems like you have developed folliculitis in the buttocks region.

Now firstly I would advise you to keep the area clean and dry as much as possible.
Do not apply any kind of moisturizing creams/lotions or oil over the affected area.
Wear cotton undergarments so as to decrease the amount of sweating.
Clean the area with lukewarm water twice a day and apply an antibiotic cream like mupirocin gel over the area twice daily.

If inspite of the above measures, the lesion persists or continues to increase in size, then you might need a course of oral antibiotics along with pain killers.

In that case, I would advise you to visit a dermatologist for proper assessment and treatment.
