I'm 21, 6'2" 180 and clean bill of health. I've had a really stubborn case of jock itch for the past 2 months or so. It's getting a lot better and looks the best it has been in the 2 months. I know keeping it dry is the best thing I can do. I've stopped working out because I'd sweat down there a lot, but I'm getting really tired of not working out and feel out of shape. I'd only be at the gym for about an hour and wouldn't be able to shower for 20 minutes after I finish lifting. Would it spread a lot in that time period, or could I just work out and shower asap afterwords? I don't want to try and then set myself back again if it's a bad idea.
After reading your query I can make out that you have recurrent fungal infection since 2 months.
It is really distressing for a young man to get recurrent fungal infections. In my patients with your kind of condition I suggest them to use anti-fugal cram such as "Sertaconzole" for two times.
An oral anti-fungal tablet such as terbinafine tablet for 4 weeks helps in reducing the recurrence.
For itching I prefer antihistamine tablet such as loratadine or cetrizine for 1-2 times.
Hope it helps
