Suggest Remedy For Knotted Bruise On Shin Above Ankle With Swelling Due To Hit On Shin

I have a knotted bruise on my shinn above my ankle where i evidently hit it on something today. Did not realize it was a problem until i noticed it has swollen into a knot type bruise. I have had ice on it for several hours and it does not seem to be relieving the swelling. Can you advise me as what to do? ?
