Suggest Remedy For Large, Sore, Blackish Red Blood Blister On Inner Thigh
I have a large blood blister on my inner thigh that is sore and blackish/red in color. It looks like a blister and a bruise together. It feels like a cyst (hard n ball like) on the inside n the outside is raised, soft and sore. I tried to squeeze it and pop it but it hurts a lot. I put peroxide on it then some Neosporin and covered it with a bandage during the day. It still looks and feels terrible. What should I do next. I have no stds and my check up was good a month ago.
Hi. As per your case history you are having a furnuncle on thigh. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. Continue dusting neosporin powder over it. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and reducing inflammation. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, azithromycin and cefadroxil taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
