I have had a lesion under my right armpit for over 1yr. It is non tender. It has become larger. I had an ultrasound that confirmed it was a 2cm lymph node. The CT scan with and without contrast was neg. The blood work was normal. I then noticed a small submandibular lesion (non tender) I saw my PCP in Jan 2014. He stated that I had Lymphadenopathy, however not worry about it. 6months later saw PCP noticed sub occipital lesions bi lat. She stated the lesion in armpit was a cyst and other areas were WNL. Saw a dermatologist for follow up for prior skin cancer. all skin was WNL. She referred me to surgeon for biopsy or removal of lesion in armpit. Now right groin lymph node is palpable. I have no symptoms. should lesion be aspirated or removed for evaluation. II would prefer less invasiveness approach. could this mean a cancer diag. Again no symptoms , no fever, no wt. loss, no night sweats, sleep well. no loss of energy. Recently had a bout with shingles. It was resolved in 5 weeks(mild case)
I understand that you would prefer a non-invasive procedure. But since the lesson is for one year and it is increasing in size the best way to rule out malignancy is excision of the lesion and sending it for biopsy.
