Hello,

You are 45 yrs of age and are presently suffering from lightheadedness. Your periods are getting a little irregular and scanty. You are also getting twitching on the left eyelid. Twitching in the eye is commonly caused by eye irritation, eye strain, lack of sleep, dry eyes, dehydration, or too much caffeine.

You are suggested to keep yourself adequately hydrated. Take quality sleep at night, give your eyes rest between sleep and limit the amount of caffeine intake. Severe or long lasting eyelid spasms may be a sign of other developing serious conditions like MS or Bell's palsy. You should get clinically examined by a GP, get requires blood tests and imaging tests done to detect the pathology causing you symptoms. You will be accordingly treated.

You are also having light-headedness, it can be indicative of menopausal symptoms as you are in peri-menopausal phase. You are advised rest, avoid any stress (emotional and physical), get clinically examined and get blood tests done to detect thyroid dysfunction, hormonal imbalance, vertigo, PID, etc. You can take Vertin -16mg, twice daily for 3-5 days, it will give relieve. Avoid driving and do not do any heavy work.

You are advised to get clinically examined by an ENT, get audiometry test done to detect developing vertigo, tinnitus, nerve problems, etc. Get required tests and investigations done so that the pathology causing symptoms and discomfort can be treated at the earliest. You can take NerveUP OD, once daily for 7-10 days for better functioning of the nerves. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
