Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I went through your history and would like to make suggestions for you as follows:
1. First of all, I would suggest you not to manipulate treatment without checking with doctor. It can be really harmful to change dose/timings of medications by self.
2. Common cause of asthma-like illness at 9 months of age is viral infection. So temperature can go up and down due to infection itself. Correlation of temperature with dosage of medicines may be a co-incidence.
3. Some of the
cough syrups/medications for respiratory illnesses may contain drugs like antihistamines which can cause sedation and
drowsiness. I would suggest you to consult your doctor regarding this as your grandson tends to be sleepy/nonresponsive after taking medicines.
4. It is usual for a child to have variable appetite during an infection/sickness. So I would suggest not to worry about it at present, let him have foods according to his appetite.
5. Plenty of ward fluids and rest are very important from recovery from an sickness.
Hope above suggestions will be helpful to you.
Should you have any further query, please feel free to ask at HCM.
Wish your grandson the best of the health and a very good recovery ahead.
Thank you & Regards.
