Suggest Remedy For Loss Of Hearing, periodic Irritation And Clear Discharge In Ears
periodic irritation in both ears, accompanied by loss of hearing. There is some strong smelling but clear discharge which hardens and itches .this is almost impossible not to scratch.this has been happening for about 12 years but with breaks of maybe 5 months
The causes can be one of the following: Local skin disease like eczema. Strong smell indicate the possibility of a condition called cholesteotoma. Eustachian tube dysfunction related to nasal and sinus problems. Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation: When in attack consult an ENT Surgeon for proper clinical evaluation an actual ENT Endoscopy.
CT scan of mastoids to see for mastoiditis, cholesteatoma. CT scan sinuses. Audiometry to know the cause of hearing loss. Relevant tests of blood specially to rule out diabetes. All these will give a proper diagnosis and thus allow for proper and specific medical and surgical treatment as indicated by the findings.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
