Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,

I can understand your concern regarding forgetfulness. At this stage in life, being preoccupied with something or anxiety are the most common causes of forgetfulness. Underlying depression can also lead to the same which further results in decreased self confidence.

I suggest you should consult a psychiatrist for complete evaluation of your condition. In case of anxiety and depression, you will benefit by medications from the group selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) like paroxetine.

In addition, you should start exercising daily which will help you relax and feel better. Relaxation exercises like deep breathing will help you concentrate better.

I do hope that i was able to help with your problem.

Best wishes,

Dr. Sunil Gupta
