Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
I strongly suggest that only lumbar spasm can not make you paralyse until ther is no problem at your spinal disc level and spinal cord level. If you have symptoms like radiating pain tingling or numbness along with lumbar spasm then take mri of lumbar spine and visit ortho as well physio therapist for further plan. As a physio doctor when there is no much problem at lumbar spine mri apart from spasm I will give proper spinal stretch as well twist and strengthening exercises. But it has to be perform once with physio to check there should not be any increase in symptoms while performing it. As well you can also use regularly hot pack at home so the heat will help to reduce lumbar spasm little more. Take care
