i have developed a hard lump in the crease of my leg in the groin area across from the perineum. I have been walking and thought perhaps a pore got clogged. I was able to express some pus from it yesterday and treated with tea tree oil. Today the area is hard and while the hard area is about the size of a quarter, there is redness that expands around the lump out about 4 inches. Should I contact my doctor or just apply hot compresses to try to get the area to go down?
You should consult general surgeon. From your description there is an abscess in your groin area. Due to some skin infection or as mentioned by you pore clogged the pus has appeared in this area. This gives pain, redness and swelling. The best way of an abscess treatment is a surgical incision what is most likely necessary at your case.
Hope this will help. Regards.
