Suggest Remedy For Nausea And Difficulty In Eating
My mother has had her asophagus stretched 5 times and con not have it stretched again. She is now in rehab for a broken knee cap and has not been eating. She is sick at the stomach all of the time and vomiting. The are giving her shots to relieve the nausea but is not working. She is getting dehydrated and they will be giving her fluids soon but she still is not getting nourishment. The doctor told my sister the next step would be a feeding bag. Of course she is I rehab for the knee and not her asophagus. Do you think she should see the doctor again to determine if a feeding tube is in order. My sister has power of attorney over her medical and will not accept the fact that she is not doing well so I am trying to find out if what I am thinking is right. She also has dimensia which adds to the complication.
If she is continuously vomiting and has nausea her nutrition is definitely being compromised, the esophageal dilatation has caused permanent reflux which makes it harder to tolerate diet for her. A feeding tube will be an excellent option since she can get all her nutrients without nausea and vomiting which will help her knee cap heal better. She can also eat with a feeding tube so her life may actually get better with this. I hope you make the right decision, take care.
