My sister woke up with a slight fever, she s not cold.... But she feels very natious, and can t stop shaking. She s also a little wee dehydrated....My mom gave her childrens tylenole and has given her plenty of fluids. She even turned on her favorite movie to distract her, but she s still has a fever..can t stop shaking...is still nautious...and coughing a lot. She is taking my little sister to our family doctor, tomarrow sometime. But what do I do until then to help her?
The most common cause of the fever is viral infection, fever can be managed with cold sponging this is the first thing can be done at home and it is much safer and effective, if it is high fever then Acetaminophen can be tried but it has to be given in full dose and pediatric dose may not work.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
