Suggest Remedy For Not Eating Due To Vomiting And Loose Motion

My 12 month old daughter(weight 8 kgs) is having vomiting sensation since 15 hrs. She has vomitted 4 times and has passed stool in form of loose motion with lot of gas realease and liquid stuff. Both the vomit and stool had very pungent citric smell. I have given her two doses of Ondem Pediatric(2.5 ml) at an interval of 8 hrs. Now vomiting has apparently subsided but she is not eating any thing. Can you please suggest something? Thanks in advance.

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. It seems your kid is having acute watery diarrhea. Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting...you need not worry. Usually in diarrhea or prodrome of diarrhea or stomach upset, there will poor appetite for few days and then it will become normalize. I suggest you not to force feed during this period as they develop aversion to food.

Unless there is blood in the motion there is no need for antibiotics or cultures. Antibiotics might worsen if unnecessarily used causing antibiotic associated diarrhea. I suggest you use zinc supplements & ORS.
