Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Ok. I m 17 years old and I bumped heads with a friend playing backyard football. His forehead hit below my eye and the top part of my cheek. A neighborhood doctor determined I didn t fracture my cheek bone or anything of that nature and I simply have a black eye. But now a day later, I m feeling numbness in the side of my lips, nose, and cheek and don t know what this means. What does this numbness mean?

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist, Sonia Dhawan's Response
Hi,
It is difficult to answer for sure but there could be a reversible pressure over the nerve in the area due to swelling or a bruised nerve itself.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
