Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
After I shot meth in my left arm at the elbow, it immediately felt different. It went completely numb like. Its now 2 days later and from the inner elbow to my hand hurts extremely bad. Its really hot and really sore at the injection spot. While 4 Inches below that is cold. Cant close my fist to well either. Also I can barely move my arm because of the pain. Will I get into trouble going to the em emergency room and telling them . I have a high tolerance for pain but this really hurts.
Ok, cannot say in this particular case without seeing it BUT none of the possibilities is either good nor able to be treated without physician intervention. Possibilities that come to mind are: infection--> needs at least antibiotics and likely surgical draining gangrene--> methamphetamine causes blood vessels to cramp and the area they normally supply doesn't get blood/oxygen/nourishment and can die off. While this is entirely reversible if gotten to in the first few hours when it occurs, at a day or later it is damage control and removal of dead tissue.
All of the possibilities will cause at least permanent damage to the elbow and can even be fatal if not treated rapidly.
