Suggest Remedy For Pain And Difficulty In Swallowing Caused By Sore Throat

I have a large white sore on the arch in the back of my throat. I first had it last month on the left side of the arch and now a month later I have one large sore on the right side. It hurts to eat,drink, and even speak. I have been dealing with this for two weeks, gargling with salt water and using canker sore medicine to numb the sore. It has continually grown over the past two weeks and I am getting worries because it has not become smaller. I ve looked everything up online and cannot figure out what this is. I have no other symptoms.

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain and difficulty in swallowing caused by sore throat. Need not to worry. You should do warm saline gargles and take throat lozenge son daily basis. Take multivitamins to boost your immunity. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist once and get complete examination done. Doctor may order blood test or throat swab test to find out the exact cause so that the condition can be treated properly. Doctor may prescribe you antibiotics or antiviral drug depending upon your condition. For now do betadine gargles and warm saline gargles and take benadryl. Take plenty of fluids.
