i have a perforated ear drum. i m also trying to heal from a common cold (virus, not bacterial). i read the cold has a very good way of starting from your ears. i put about 4 drops of 3% h202 in my ear and it stung really bad because of the perforated eardrum. now that a few days have gone by, i think all that s left in the inner ear is just water...but i want to know if this is something to worry about. will it drain out by itself? im having a hard time hearing normally out of this ear. please let me know.
hello, you dont need to worry this much. first tell me whether the discharge is foul smelling or not. ultimate treatment may be surgery only but type of surgery to be done depends upon the type of disease. right now you can start neosporin -h ear drop or betnesol-n ear drop for 10 days along with cetrizine 5 mg at night. this should help you to get your ear dry. if not, we may try an oral antibiotic later
