Suggest Remedy For Pain And Swelling In Toe Due To Injury

I am 18, 5 5 and about 135/140 lbs. I has in my dorm room and I woke up realizing I fell asleep on the floor. I picked up my lap top carried it to my desk it dropped hit right above my pnky toe more on the foot area. It instantly swelled up and is black/purple/blue and hurts really bad. I am currently icing it but I m at college and the nurse isn t around. Help please!

Hi,

If there are no open wounds or an obvious deformity, it's most likely as a result of a contusion of the toe and a worst case scenario of a fracture / dislocation of the toe. This can be confirmed by getting X-ray imaging done. However in the interim, icing it, elevating the foot and strapping the little toe to the 4th toe could reduce the symptom of pain greatly.
