General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. As you had a trauma on chest it is better to rule out a fracture of ribs by doing Chest x ray.Usually for my patients i give NSAIDs and recommend resting for 3 to 4 days if there is no affection to lungs. If rib fracture is not present it can be just muscle contusion. In such case also only rest and analgesic is required.Local application of NSAID gels like diclofenac or Nimusulide also will be helpful.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
