After a cystoscope and voiding test my doc said that my stream was stopping and starting throughout. He stated that bladder spasms have thickened my bladder wall so I can t hold as much urine or have a steady stream. But I have to strain or I can t pee, it sometimes burns when I urinate, I have to go at least every half hour or so I feel alot of pressure and pain in the small of my back my left side and in my pelvis...does this symptoms fit with his diognosis.
Hello,
The pain during urination with a history of surgery can be due to infection or bladder neck scarring or stricture or calculus. If the infection has been ruled out then the other options need to be explored after a cystoscopy. Feeling pain while passing the urine might also be due to more acidic nature of the urine. To prevent this, have more and more fluids per day. Avoid acidic fruit juices like lime juice, orange juice, etc. Plenty of cranberry juice will help in reducing the symptoms. Examine the external genital area carefully for any injury and rashes. If the symptoms do not improve you can get an ultrasound scan done to rule out any possibility of renal or ureteric calculus.
