Suggest Remedy For Pain In Throat After Swallowing Dettol Followed By Vomiting

I have a person who has swallowed approximately 300mls of dettol at 0330hrs. She has induced vomitting, amount unknown. Currently she only presents with a sensation of pain in her throat. What symptoms should I be looking for, and what is the best management. Curious. She is safe in the ed

Thanks for posting your query .

Dettol is an acid . It was very wrong to induce vomiting , anyhow it has been done .

Acid consumption causes corrosive ( burn ) injury to throat , food pipe and stomach . That is the reason for her pain .

Management is not to give anything ( not even water ) by mouth for 2 days . After 2 days get an Upper Gastrointestinal endoscopy done and depending on the injury it shall be decided for how long she has to remain nil by mouth .

Kindly revert back after endoscopy .
