I went hiking for 15 miles. I have blisters on the bottoms of both feet. They are painful. One is popped. The other isn t. I m more concerned about the one that popped. It appears to be bruised under the blister. It hurts to stand and I m a preacher. Any remedies or advice? I am a 38 year old white male...5 10 198 pounds in relatively good health.
You have "Friction blisters". For the one that is popped, don't remove the skin. Take a spirit swab and just gently clean it without removing skin. It is important to keep the skin intact for early healing and to prevent infection. Then apply Neosporin topical cream on it and Apply soft dressing( like 'sunyplast' on it). The blister which is intact, it is good to drain it with the help of small 5cc sterile syringe after cleaning it with spirit swab and apply Neosporin topical cream(or any other broad range topical antibiotic cream) on it and "hydro-colloid blister plaster" on it, so that the early healing and potent cover for infection may be obtained. Take one paracetamol tablet twice daily for pain relief. The friction blisters are sterile blisters but if they are infected ( skin is hot, red and filled with yellow/green pus) then you will have to take systemic antibiotics.
