Question 1: My son, who is now 11, has had painful bowel movements since he was 18 months old. His pediatrician suggested prunes/juice daily and it did help. We slacked up on the prunes/juice as that you can imagine the diapers we subsequently had to deal with and the problem seemed to disappear as he got older. Six months ago, the problem returned with a vengeance. He is self conscious about going to the Dr. about this. Should we begin the prunes/juice therapy again? Question 2: Same child has one leg shorter than the other. My husband and I had him tested for juvenile arthritis (husband was diagnosed when he was in elementary school) and was told he was fine. Unfortunately, every time the weather changes--hot to cold or wet to dry--our son exhibits a pronounced limp. Again, we are talking about an 11 year old child who wonders why these things are happening to him.
