I m a healthy 26 yr old that eats decently and works out regularly. Recently, I had some blemishes on my scrotum that a few days later developed into slightly painful sores. I thought it might be herpes so I went to the doctor. He took a culture AND blood tested it. Both tests came back negative. Sure enough, a week or so later, the sores/blemishes went away. However, a week or two later, those blemishes/sores came back in the same spot. It s not spreading. I just thought it was odd. I do have Valtrex that my doctor prescribed before the tests came back, just in case it was herpes. I ve started taking it again. Maybe shingles or something?
Hi. As per your case history you are having multiple folliculitis lesions on scrotum. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
