i have a purple area on my shin that my GP told me to put lotion on. however it has lighten up on the bottom and continue I little higher up the leg. the purple area is tougher skin and doesn t really hurt but a little ache now and again and seldomly itches. what could it be?
Dear Your description very closely matches that of morphoea or localized sclerdoerma. Please let me know for how long the patch has been around and whether it is slowly advancing in one direction? It generally itches in the direction of its growth or spread but the skin feels bound down and difficult ti pinch or move. For such a condition, I would advise some anti allergic like cetirizine and prescribe mild steroid ointment and sometimes even intralesional steroid injections.Once I receive your further details and may be a pic of the lesion, I will be able to tell you more about the condition.
