Suggest Remedy For Painful, sore And Tender Nostrils
The outer area of my right nostril at the entrance to the nostril is painful, sore and tender. It does not look swollen and there is no lump. Below that down to my top lip also feels numb (like novocaine injection is wearing off). Had this for three days and it came on very quickly.
Hi,looking at your symptoms, you might be suffering from Nasal Vestibulitis-it is an inflammation of the outer skin of nasal cavity. It may lead to pain and tenderness over the nostril and numbness of upper lip.
It generally occurs after nose cleaning, finger pricking,or removal of nasal hair by picking. In future avoid these things.
You may find relief by applying Antibiotic ointment (like Soframycin ) over the outer skin of nasal cavity,Analgesic (like Ibuprofen),Antihistaminic(like Cetrizine).
If by above measures, if still your complain is not reducing after 2-3 days, you may need to start oral antibiotics after consulting an Otolaryngologist Doctor.
Hope this answers your question. Take care.
