Suggest Remedy For Palpitations In Heart And High Blood Pressure

Have a history of palpitations starting last december. Started taking Nadolol (40 mg) 6 months ago. It all started due to heavy drinking so I stopped that. Had a beer 2 days ago and palpitations are back, 137/94 blood pressure. Can feel thumping in chest. No chest pain, no nausea, no shortness of breath.

Hello,

You have a tachycardia precipitated by alcohol. It is most likely to be a sinus tachycardia but it would be good to confirm it with an EKG at the time of palpitation.
A betablocker medicine like Nadolol is sufficient for a sinus tachycardia. Other medicines/procedures may be required if you have other types of arrhythmia.
Wish you good health.
I am available if you have further queries.
