Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
I understand that you are worried about your husband's problems. You have mentioned that he has panic attacks for which he is taking benzodiazepines. Now, bezodiazepines are usually used for the short term management of
anxiety disorders. However, if taken for
prolonged periods of time, they can cause dependency. There are other medication like SSRIs and psychological therapies like CBT which can be effective in the control of panic attacks.
You have also mentioned that he is drinking excessively everyday. Now, excessive alcohol use itself can be associated with anxiety problems such as panic attacks. So, it is important that he stops or cuts down his alcohol use. So, I would suggest that you convince him to get professional help for his alcohol problems.
Regarding his stomach issues, it is possible that this could be due to an
acid peptic disease or alcoholic
gastritis. So, it is advisable to have a proper physical examination, and if necessary, further investigations to establish the cause of this problem.
Wish you all the best.
