Suggest Remedy For Patches Of Discoloration On Hairline
I recently got a haircut, and when the barber trimmed the hairs around my hairline I noticed spots and patches of discoloration where my hairline and forehead meet. Some times my hair is flaky, which I know is a sign of dandruff. However Ive never noticed the light spots off discoloration which is embarrassing especially because it contrasts from my natural skin complexion and is quite noticeable because I am an African American. Please help Much appreciated ~Trev
I can understand your concern for patches of discoloration on hairline . After analyzing the query I can get that you have the condition of seborrheic dermatitis of scalp area.
It is a condition of excessive flaking which causes fall of skin and then resultant skin looks lighter than rest of normal skin.
I suggest my patients to apply mild topical steroid based creams such as cortisone or Fluticasone or mometasone. It is to applied in minimum amount for few days only and must be stopped in 7-15 days period
For itching part you can take cetrizine or loratadine 2-3 times a day if itching is more pronounced.
Take care.
