I have penile petechia. Regular STD s have been ruled out as a cause. I was given a bacterial cream that didn t work. Now my doctor has prescribed a fungal cream. The pharmacist says it will take about 10 days for symptoms to subside if this was the cause. I am 52 5 8 190 lbs., in excellent health, and on no medications. My questions are: 1) Is this acceptable procedure, to prescribe medication before a diagnosis is made? I feel like a guinea pig in an experiment. 2) What will be the next course of action if the fungal cream doesn t work? 3) is a fungal infection the same as a yeast infection? (my girlfriend has one). Thank you. My email is YYYY@YYYY
1) By an appropriate diagnosis, medication can be given 2) If the anti-fungal fails, rule out for specific diagnosis 3) Yes, both fungal and yeast infection are same.
