I'm a 62 year old women, that is getting more UTI's then I feel I should .In the past 6 months I've had 2 and now today I feel like I'm getting one again. My urine seems to be cloudy again. Why does this keep happening? I took AZO today will this effect my lab work if I go to doctor tomorrow? I live about 45minutes from doctor's office so I know I could not make it to his office with frequent trips to bathroom.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Getting repeated urinary tract infection in an elderly women of 62 years suggests that the antibiotics you are taking is not working well as the organisms would have developed resistance.
Whenever your urine appears cloudy, you need to get your urine tested for microscopy and know its culture & sensitivity pattern before taking antibiotics.
Also, the antibiotic you are taking is preferred to be used for respiratory tract infection and not for urinary tract infection.
Hence, kindly get the proper investigations done and consult Urologist for appropriate evaluation and treatment.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
