Hi,

Firstly, rule out pregnancy if the period is delayed, HCG estimation and USG will be helpful.

Secondly, cervix inflammation or uterine fibroid also to be ruled out. For that per speculum examination and USG useful.

Thirdly, rule out ovarian causes like cyst by USG.

The pelvic inflammatory disease also can be the cause. USG will be useful along with urine examination.

Also, check your diabetes by sugar estimation and thyroid profile. If needed accordingly you might need pap smear examination or endometrial biopsy like an investigation. Consult a gynec doctor for proper examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
