Suggest Remedy For Persistent Vomiting In An Infant With Diarrhea And Abdominal Cramps
Hi Doc...my 2.4 year old had vomiting 3 times in 24 hrs 5 days ago...but she still conplains of tummy cramps everyday after eating anything and has very watery bowels either once or twice a day.....should I just keep offering her fluids and wait for things to settle on its own or should I start giving her Bacigyl N for diarrhea and stomach cramps.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history related to your daughter who is 2.4 years old and had 3 vomiting 5 days ago. Vomiting have stopped but she passes very watery bowels and has has stomach cramps after eating. This is a cause of concerns as this appears to be due to an infection in the stomach and can be of the intestine or some structures in the lymph nodes or so. It is always better to get the things certain by doing the following: Consult the Pediatrician for clinical examination as the child is small. Get the stool and blood tested as well as ultrasonography of the abdomen to rule out appendicitis and lymph node enlargement. Your Pediatrician may ask for another antibiotic as per his experience, which may be Bacigyl N or other. Take care and do not take risk by giving medicines on your own.
