my boyfriend has been on strong antibiotics because of the flu. Since this, he has been suffering with small pimples on the head of his penis and small cuts have developed on the foreskin. The inside of his thighs have also developed pimples and what looks like chaffing and has become very tender. He is unable to pull the foreskin down to wash his penis. I have been bathing it with a diluted solution of tea tree oil and water and I have applied some fissan paste to soothe it as it has been unbearably sensitive and itchy. He is 38 years old and weighs apprx 140kgs.
The symptoms are suggestive of Balanitis. Since the inside of the thighs are also affected, it could be fungal infection. He can take a course of oral anti fungal (Fluconazole), can apply ointments like Clotrimazole locally in the area affected. However, since he is sexually active he is suggested to get clinically examined by a GP & if need be get STD tests done to stay on the safer side.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
