Hi I am a 45yr old woman, in the past month I have started getting big cystolic type pimples underneath my skin in my armpit they are EXTREMELY painful because of were it is. It hurts to lift my arm it hurts to put it all the way down etc.. I get these in the bikini area a week or so before my period so I figured it was probably hormonal or from shaving. Could this be hormonal? I sometimes get external ones also. I was thinking stress? I'm not sure if it's something external or internal but it has become sooo painful that it brings me to tears and I have a pretty high pain tolerence I try to prick them and sqeeze the puss out( witch is kind of thick almost gelatinous) but sometimes it takes days for it to come to the surface, I want to know what these are and what I can do to treat it, I have to wait a while for my dermatologist apt. so I cant get in to ask her. thank you so much
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have cystic type pimples on face which occur when there is hormonal changes, stress and clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum ,dead skin and bacteria get infected. It seems to be mainly hormonal in your case. I would suggest you to apply Meladerm cream and it is purely safe to use as this is combination of hydroquinone, Tretinoin and steroid and apply it at night time. Also wash your face with mild soap and cold water twice a day , exfoliate your face once a week , apply aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day. Drink plenty of fluids. If condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult dermatologist. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course and can also go for chemical peel containing Glycolic acid.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
