Am 32 weeks pregnant. Two days back due to reduced movement i consulted the doctr and found out that my liquor level was as low as 6.9. I had two steroid shots and trips. After the doppler study it was found that blood flow to baby was normal and cleared the non stress test too.howevr baby is growth retarded and measures only 28 weeks. My dctr has advised me to take Arginine granules and be monitored for liquor and NST once in 3 days. She said we can wait till 34 weeks and then perform C section as she is worried. Now am under complete bed rest nd drinkng lots of fluids. Wat should i do?? Wat are the possible chances??
Thanks for posting your query. Your baby is having a condition called IUGR ie baby is not growing according to its inborn growth potential. As we have crossed 32 weeks the outcome is generally good. At this point the doctor is balancing the risks of keeping the baby in vs delivering the baby early. The scans, doppler, NST all help us to make this decision. Steroids help babys lung maturity to certain extent. You need to keep monitoring the babys movements. If they are less, you need to go to hospital immediately as baby could be tired & may need emergency delivery. The aim is to get you to 34 weeks if possible. If we get there safely , the outcome is generally good and the baby will need care in NICU for few days to weeks post delivery. Doppler being normal is a good sign. Fluid 6.9 is less but not worrisome. Take care.
