Suggest Remedy For Problem In Pregnancy

i have just been told i have a 1 in 90 chance that my baby has nuchal translucency, with the blood test corresponding with the neck fold, my gynae has referred me to a fetal specialist that will cost me R 13 300.00 (scan and amnio) im not sure if i should do the amnio, but i mean everyone is telling me this is a false negetive result, im 23 years old, what r the chances ?

Hello, I understand that you have underwent screening for Downs syndrome(scan+blood test).
The usual cut-off is 1: 250.
So,1:90 definitely indicates a higher risk. But, that is only a risk..I.e. chance that your baby may have the problem. It does not mean that your baby already has problem. So, your doc has asked you to undergo further tests to see whether really your baby has a problem.
So, it is better to go ahead with the test.
