Hello, Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. I have gone through your query and would like to offer some information. It is quite common for the first menstrual period after a delivery or abortion to be heavier, the reason being the altered hormone balance and the increased uterine size thereby creating larger shedding surface. You may also need styptics to control the bleeding in addition to specific medication. If you are lactating, please consume the medication after feeds to avoid transfer to the baby. Please report the matter to your doctor if you do not get relief in a day or two. Hope this helps.
