Suggest Remedy For Prolonged Bleeding During Periods

Hi doctor..Im 23.its my first periods after my delivery in january 31 2014.my periods started this 11th and it is not stopped.i went to a gynaec and she advised me daflon and mefenamic acid for 7days.It is 3rd day of medicine...but my periods didnt stopped..what to do

It is quite common for the first menstrual period after a delivery or abortion to be heavier, the reason being the altered hormone balance and the increased uterine size thereby creating larger shedding surface. You may also need styptics to control the bleeding in addition to specific medication. If you are lactating, please consume the medication after feeds to avoid transfer to the baby. Please report the matter to your doctor if you do not get relief in a day or two. Hope this helps.
