Suggest Remedy For Red Itchy Swelling In Foot

I bent the top knuckle of my second toe, left foot, all the up until it clicked 8 weeks ago. There was little swelling and bruising. I could walk for after 5 days or so. It wasn t broken but now 8 weeks later, it s red and itchy in a little area just below the nail bed. It s gotten redder over the past few weeks. I m worried!

Hi.
As per your case history of swelling and brushing of toe my advice is -
1. As it is already 8 weeks of the history of trying is less likely that current swelling is due to it unless you are hurt again.
2. It may be due to some minor new trauma or a bug bite.
3. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain and swelling.
4. Avoid wearing ill fitting footwear to have better healing.

Thanks.
