Suggest Remedy For Red Pimples On Cheek And Forehead

I am 21 year old female. My skin type is normal. Since a month now I got these nodule/ cystic break outs (red bumps) on my cheek and forehead. Also, i have these numerous tiny clogged white heads kind of stuff all over my cheek, chin and forehead. I went to see a dermatologist and he gave me cefuroxime (zinacef), and a lotion and fucidin to apply. But till now I havent really seen any positive result. I have been on antibiotics since 2 weeks now but the bumps just keep coming and going. Sometimes they arise on the same place. Kindly tell me what to do. I have never had any kind of break outs before and this condition is making me frustrated.

Hi, I am Dr. Richa. I understand your cincern. The complaints You gave described looks like You have got a bout of nodulocystic acne. Nodulocystic acne are painful eruptions. The episodes of nodulocystic acne are usually associated with certain kind of food ( it can be different for everyone) , also with the cosmetic applications ( depending upon what it contains) which lead to such eruptions. Nodulocystic acne is treatable with ISOTRETINOIN and minocyclin but since it is a drug on prescription, you need to see a doctor/ dermatologist. Also, next time keep a track of thing u ate and any new cosmetics or lotions you applied before they occur and avoid them. Avoid sun exposure, cover your face once out in sunlight. Also, if you are pregnant or planning to be in near future, these tablets should not be taken. Thanks, Take care.
