Suggest Remedy For Redness And Swelling In Ankle Caused By Insect Bite
I was bit by a bug on my ankle 2.5 days ago. It looked like a giant mosquito bite at first. There was one identifiable red hole surrounded by 1x2" swollen, tender and itchy skin. After applying 1% Hydrocortisone cream the itching stopped and the skin was tender. Yesterday the swollen area was shrinking be the skin stayed red. Now the swollen area is dark purplish red. Should I go to a clinic?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...
As per your complain due to allergic reaction with the bug sting the symptoms have occurred and as the swelling has started to reduce it is va good signs and purplish red appearance is due to any ruptured blood vessel cause by bug sting and there is spillage of blood into the soft tissues.. Nothing to worry you can apply Heparin containing gel over the discoloured area and do cold compresses.. If there is itching again you can take anti allergics like Levocetrizine or Benadryl..
Hope this information helps..
